The Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination is one of the most prestigious exams in Bangladesh, providing civil service jobs under the government. Annually, a large number of aspirants compete for limited spots. To begin your journey, you must handle the application process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply smoothly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To begin your BCS application, visit the authorized site of BPSC: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the only portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Stay cautious from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Check for the latest BCS exam circular under the “Circulars”. The circular provides key information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other relevant instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Go through the requirements, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The standard age limit is 21–30 years for general candidates, but modifications can be granted for specific groups such as relatives of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the BCS application page (Form 1). Input all required fields, such as applicant information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Recheck for any typos. Providing invalid information can lead to dismissal.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a recent copyright-sized photograph (with dimensions 300x300, file size below 100 KB) and your signature (300x80 pixels, file size below 60 KB). Check that these are as per the guidelines mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After submitting the online form, you will be sent a User ID. Use this ID to transfer the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and 100 BDT for others. Follow the guidelines provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will get a confirmation SMS with a Transaction ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Log back into the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Finalize your application well before the deadline to stay away from last-minute technical issues.

Print a copy of the completed application for future use, such as for retrieving the admit card.

By complying with these processes, you can complete your application for the BCS exam and get one step nearer your aspiration in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Wishing you success!
